We follow the RBI Digital Lending Guidelines which restrict access to device resources. We only request one-time access to the following resources for onboarding and Know-Your-Customer (KYC) requirements:
1. Camera Access (android.permission.CAMERA):
Purpose: The App requires access to your device’s camera exclusively to enable core banking and regulatory features:
QR Code Scanning: To initiate quick and secure payments.
Identity Verification (KYC/Video KYC): To allow you to take and upload photos of identification documents required for regulatory compliance and account opening, or to participate in a Video KYC session.
Data Handling: The App only accesses the camera when you actively initiate a feature that requires it. We DO NOT passively record, stream, or access your photo gallery or media files. Images captured for verification purposes are immediately encrypted and transmitted to our secure servers and are only retained as long as necessary to comply with legal and business obligations.
2. Technical and Usage Data:
IP address, device type, browser information, login activity, and session information.
Location Access: Required only for one-time location capture during the Video KYC process to confirm you are within Indian geographical boundaries as mandated by the RBI.
We use your information for the following purposes, only after obtaining your specific and informed consent:
To provide, maintain, and manage banking services and products in partnership with RBL Bank.
To perform mandatory KYC verification and comply with RBI and other regulatory norms.
To process transactions, manage your account, and prevent fraud.
To send alerts, updates, and transaction confirmations.
To improve our services and ensure platform security.
To comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including reporting to Credit Information Companies.
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share your information only with the following entities under strict confidentiality:
RBL Bank and authorized partners: For banking, underwriting, and compliance purposes as the Regulated Entity (RE).
Regulatory authorities: (e.g., RBI, SEBI, Income Tax Dept.) when legally required or mandated.
Lending Service Providers (LSPs) and Service Providers: For backend operations (e.g., cloud storage, analytics, payment processors), bound by strict confidentiality agreements and restricted from using data for any other purpose.
Credit Bureaus: For reporting loan status, in compliance with RBI guidelines.
Storage Location: In compliance with RBI directives, all customer data is stored securely on encrypted servers located within the territorial jurisdiction of India.
Security Measures: We implement industry-standard safeguards, including: Data encryption at rest and in transit, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), regular security audits, and role-based access controls to limit access to authorized personnel only.
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve user experience, remember login details, and analyze usage patterns. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser or device settings.
In compliance with applicable regulations, you have the following rights concerning your personal data:
Right to Access: To request a summary of your data held by us.
